Jez Butterworth at Soho Theatre

Wednesday 1st September 2010, 7.30pm

Tickets £8

Listen to Jez in conversation with Ian Rickson about his life, career and work; hear a reading from one of his plays; and join us in discussion with Jez about his themes, styles and methods of writing.

Bursting onto the British theatre scene in the mid-1990s with Mojo, Jez Butterworth won both the Olivier and the Evening Standard awards. His writing is known for its grittiness and urbanity, but after moving out of London and becoming a Somerset pig farmer his plays have celebrated a rustic English charm and a unique lyricism, culminating in the widely-acclaimed Jerusalem. Plays include: Mojo (Royal Court, 1995); The Winterling (Royal Court, 1996); The Night Heron (Royal Court, 2002); Parlour Song (Almeida Theatre, 2009); Jerusalem (Royal Court/ West End, 2009).
